Title: Conversion of Cadna models to NoiseMap
Post by: roger on June 12, 2013, 07:05:33 PM
You may have inherited a Cadna model (in CRTN configuration) and need to convert it to NoiseMap format.

This is fairly easy to do, but you need to bear in mind that Cadna does not implement CRTN in the same way as NoiseMap (which implements all the features of CRTN in the manner described in the Technical Memorandum.)

The first step is to export the Cadna model as a number of Shapefiles.  You can then read these Shapefiles into NoiseMap. We can provide you with the necessary 'profiles' (which instruct NoiseMap how the Cadna Shapefiles are to be translated).  The conversion is then automatic and very fast.

It appears that certain CRTN parameters are not native to Cadna which has been adapted to CRTN requirements.  Further, it appears that some of the parameters are not exported in the Shapefiles.  This may necessitate some editing of the model after conversion.  However, this should not be an onerous task and is a perfectly practical process.

We can provide a set of notes to help you with undertaking the conversion.
