This feature allows you to adjust the height of a barrier without having to edit its start and end heights. So it is quick to do and can be applied to many barriers at once.
If you open the properties window of any barrier, at the bottom you will see a list of 10 levels. Initially these are all set to zero, and their check boxes are unticked.
To use the feature, first go to Parameters>edit barrier adjustments and assign an adjustment to some of the levels. For example, you might highlight Level 1 and put 0.5 (m) in the Height Adjustment box. Then highlight Level 2 and put 1.0 (m) in that box. And highlight Level 3 and put 1.5 m in that box.
You haven't yet affected the height of any barriers. But now select one or more barriers and in the height adjustment section of its property window, tick the boxes for Level 1 and level 3. This will add 0.5 + 1.5 = 2.0 m to the height of the selected barriers. When you do a calculation, this new barrier height will be used. So if the barrier was already 1 m above ground level, it will now be 3 m above ground level.
By applying different Level numbers to different barriers, you can have different height increments on different barriers.
To optimise the height of barriers, select a few typical receivers and run the calculations with different level adjustments selected each time. This facility replaces the 'Robard' automatic barrier design feature that was available with NoiseMap Enterprise, as that feature was said to produce overly-elaborate variations in barrier height that would rarely be used in reality.
