Title: Can I export from NoiseMap five to RoadNoise Enterprise?
Post by: roger on February 13, 2014, 12:28:52 PM
Yes.  First load up the scenario of interest in NoiseMap five. Then go to File>Export Archive
Then choose RoadNoise Enterprise Edition Archive

Browse to a suitable folder and put a suitable comment into the Comment line to identify the archive.
Click Export.

Then start RoadNoise Enterprise and when the splash screen appears, choose Load an existing archive.
Navigate to the file and open it.
Check the output screen to check if there are any conversion issues.  These could include too many objects (from edition 2.6.0 onwards, you can have 16000 objects of each type).  Note that building outlines cannot be imported into RoadNoise Enterprise.  You would need to convert them into barriers in NoiseMap five.

To save the model, click Modify Scheme Files.  [Don't use Save Scheme because this assumes that RoadNoise already knows which folder to save into.  But because you loaded from an archive, the scheme files don't yet exist.]

Now click Save As, browse to a suitable folder and type in a suitable name for the masterfile [.MAS]
You will now be asked if you want to move all the scheme files to the new directory (folder). Click YES
You will now be asked if you want the root name (first part of the file name) to be the same as you chose for the masterfile.  You may or may not want to do this.  The new files will be created and you will get the confirmation Scheme Saved.  NB if you don't get this confirmation, then check that you have permission to save to the selected folder.

Click OK.

The original scheme files should now be present in the chosen folder and you can open it with the usual open scheme option.
