Most modern computers have processors with multiple 'cores' which can each be undertaking a different process.
NoiseMap has released a new system that allows you to use the additional cores in your computer processor simultaneously when doing a noise calculation. With a Quad-core processor (commonly available even in laptops) this can speed up processing time by 500 to 600 per cent!
